Hey Simon,

I know you said you were going to send the first email. But I had time left on the computer after I finished up a paper and I wanted to thank you again for coming to see me. I know it wasn’t easy. I really appreciate you hearing me out, listening to my apology and considering what I said.

I think you’d get a kick out of the paper I finished. It’s on the psychology of siblings. For a section of it, I used you and me as an example. It’s shocking, and a bit sad really, how many documented examples I found that mimic us. Anyway, I attached it if you want to give it a read sometime.

I read that there’ve been some anti-gay attacks near campus and that some of the school’s athletes have banded together so that students don’t have to walk alone after dark. Why do I think you’re somehow behind that? The article only had quotes from the campus police chief and the athletic director, but it seemed like something you’d have a hand in or at least be helping with. Stay safe, okay?

Anyway, holidays are coming up soon. I know your time at home is limited with the hockey commitments. I haven’t heard from Mom yet what your plans are. Anyway, if you’re here, maybe we could visit again? Completely up to you, but I’d approve it in a heartbeat.

I know this weekend’s game is on TV so I’ll do my best to get the people here to watch it so I can see you play. Go out there and kick some ass, okay?

Anyway, I need to go as the one-minute-warning is going off on this terminal and I don’t want to lose this email.
